Help Unable to D/L MMS content

PHP87

Android Enthusiast
I've tried several MMS apps., but I can't D/L a 39kb attachment.

Any suggestions?

Thanks as always.

Use whichever rom's stock mms/sms app, in my experience any/every market text messenger app has had trouble receiving the data support for mms. Now if you're having trouble still even with the stock mms/sms app maybe the data service in your area is too weak. Try rebooting your device, maybe toggling the data on/off and such.

I'm on WiFi with a strong signal...I've rebooted, turned service off/on etc...

Not sure how to go about using the stock ROM

Edit: Switching from WiFi to Data worked.

Thanks.

Yea mms's won't come through a Wi-Fi signal, it HAS to come through the phones 4G/3G(EV)/ect. data.

All androids can recieve mms/sms over wifi, it's always been that way.

I had my GF send me an mms and I sent myself an sms and took screen shots while on wifi so you can see for yourself...

Every time I receive/send a mms and Wi-Fi is on the 4G icon pops up along side the Wi-Fi icon and that's always how it's been for me. Try doing it again and this time turn off your data and leave only the Wi-Fi on.

And I have excellent Wi-Fi.

I'm not trying to be a jerk. I know text messages will go through when Wi-Fi is on, but when sending pictures/audio/video messages I thought they required the phone's data to send/receive them. I've never known any of my android devices to act any differently. I've always thought sms goes through the phone's cellular/phone signal and the mms went through the phone's data/interwebs service. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Dude it's cool, I take your word for it. I rarely use wifi unless it's to connect to ADB wireless. You could be right.

I usually have Data turned off as I am almost always within WiFi range.

If I turn on both, I'm sure MMS will work via Data.
