Unable to delete shortcuts

I'm unable to delete shortcuts from my home screen , no pop up with menu comes up,
The phone is up to date.

Are you using the stock launcher?

Some launchers have settings to lock the home screen shortcuts. If you're using touchwiz (default Samsung Launcher) check to see if you have "Good Lock" installed.

Also, make sure you're long-pressing the icon. You should then be able to remove the icon or uninstall the app.
