"unable to find HTC Sync on your PC"

I had been using HTC Sync succssfully to sync my calendar items and haven't used it for a week or two and now all of a sudden when I connect my phone via usb to my laptop, its searching for ages and then comes up with "unable to find HTC Sync on your PC". HTC Sync is def open and installed on my laptop.

Any advice on what it could be? I've powercycled the phone and laptop. changed the usb port can't think of anything else.

I've just put in my work shifts and need to trans it to my phone. Thanks!

*have also tried unistalling ad reinstalling htc sync on laptop and rebooting. still no luck

thanks, i uninstalled and reinstalled again and rebooted.. now its ok.
