Unable to Import Contacts Backup

I did a factory data reset of the G2x. Prior to that I exported my contacts to the SD card. I import them and it appears they get imported but I still see no contacts.
Am I missing something?

I needed to sett Display Contacts from. Great! Now that I'v tried importing 3 time I have each contact listed 3 times.

did you import them to where? as google or as phone contacts? which contcts have you set to display?

In do not sync at all with google. I exported to my SD. I needed to check My Contacts in Display options. Another thing is I did another data seset and the contacts where already there. I did no import. I also unchecked restore from google.

Log on to GMail from a browser, click on the red word GMail and select Contacts. Are your contacts shown there? If so they've been synced at some point in the past. In this case they will restore as long as contact sync is on in your account settings. So if that is Google's default, then if you have data enabled when you do a factory data reset then it will start when you enter your Gmail account details after the reset. I'm talking gingerbread here, so apologies if options are different in ICS or JB.

If you want to be sure you just import stuff from your vcard file, make sure contact sync is off, clear data for Contacts Storage, then restore from your backup.
