Help Unable to open connection

Lurker
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note. I have been trying to add my work email id which is through Microsoft Exchange. Everytime I add the email, all the steps are completed and I get an email on my computer congratulating me for connecting my mobile devices to Exchange Server 2010. But, when I try to access the inbox on my Samsung Galaxy Note, I get the message 'Unable to open connection to server due to security error'.

My colleagues have followed exactly the same steps and are able to add the company emails to their android phones. I am sure this is common problem. How can it be resolved?

I have the exact same problem and I have tried vevery single setting to get around this - used same settings as my SAMSUNG GALAXY which works just fine, syncing to my OUTLOOK Exchange server emails, contacts and Calendar

Likewise, and the very reason for this my first visit to the forum! Have set up 6 other email accounts on my Note, without any problems whatsoever. However, have one account that is linked to email provided by Intermedia. Entering all Activesync detail exactly as instructed and seems to accept the setup. Then, when trying to sync I receive the on-screen message "Connection error" followed by the account name. I've been trying to solve this for around 2 weeks now!!! Is there anyone out there who can help?

which email application are you using? certain type of account settings dont work based on the protocols set by your server admin.

i have multiple pop and imap accounts working fine on K9 Mail.

I was getting this, but only for some devices. It turned out that it was a problem with IIS in that an additional security protocol had been added to the site which was causing problems.

I tracked down the issue using Microsoft's connectivity tester (https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/) for ActiveSync
