Help Unable to pair ELM327 with Droid 2

Vanwall

Lurker
I have a Droid 2 that I would like to use in my car paired to a generic ELM 327 bluetooth OBDII unit.

I can pair the ELM327 via bluetooth to my Nexus 7 running 4.2.2 Jellybean.

I can pair the ELM327 via bluetooth to my HPtouchpad running CM9 4.0.4 Ice cream sandwich.

My Droid 2 running 2.3.4 gingerbread will pair to my car phone/radio (2012 Mustang with sync). No problem with phone calls.

When I scan for devices on the Droid 2 it does not detect the OBDII (ELM327). It does not detect and ask for code.

Anyone have a suggestion as to what my issue is with the Droid 2?

What bluetooth versions are the OBDII and the Droid 2? Could be a version mismatch or something. I know some of my older devices, pre-ICS, would not pair with certain devices.

Got it working.

For some reason selecting the scan for devices on the screen did not detect.

When I hit the bottom left key there was a single option Scan for devices and that option worked.
