Help Unable to play a lot of MP3s

I have got a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. I am close to smashing the thing to bits.

I have a load of MP3's I have got from my old CD's. Copied them to my SD card via Kies and the unit will not play my MP3s, it says they are not supported. They are not DRM.

I have tried copying them vie Kies, via drag and drop and only a handful play.

WTF!

Any advice appreciated.

Do they play on the computer if you copy them from the phone to the computer (directly, using copy and paste, not using Kies)? They may have gotten corrupted when you transferred them from the CD to the computer or from the computer to the phone.
