Root Unable to root zv9 & vv3

I have a Connect that originally came as a ZV9. It used to be rooted. I unrooted the phone, upgraded the firmware to VV5. Downgraded to VV3, then back to ZV9. Now all of the above happened over a period of time and exchanged hands within the family a few times. Now I have it again and wish to re-root.
Unfortunately...after downgrading, factory resets and trying each root method found on this forum. I cant get this phone to root.

Any suggestions, tips??

My have been a bad idea to even UPGRADE to vv5 as I have a theory which is if u upgrade to a unrootable version it patches the exploit and it is for evermore patch but I digress its just a theory just keep rooting it on Internet connection and have USB debugging on of course if those are not enabled rooting is not possible so try dat and just keeping rooting for me it says failed but I used a app with su perms and it works :D
