Help Unable to sync with google

I am having a strange issue on my Nexus 5 for the last 5 days. My phone has stopped syncing to my google account. Now I am not getting mew mails on gmail app, I can't connect to play store, can't sign in to youtube ,can't see my google cards, hangout and google calender not working. I removed my google account from settings and tried adding it back but was unable to do so. I got the following error message"Couldn't sign in - Can't establish a reliable connection to the server.This could be a temporary problem or your device may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call customer care". Today I also did a factory reset on my phone and erased all contents but I was still unable to sign in. I even tried changing my google account password on my computer but still cant log in on my phone.
Here I would also like to mention that internet on my phone is working fine. And stock email app is able to access my gmail account. Kindly advise what can I do to get my phone to sync again.
 
Turn data off. Turn wifi on. Add your google account. If that works, check your APN (you'll have to get the one your carrier uses - it's carrier-dependent). If that doesn't work (or you can't do it), contact your carrier (in a store, if possible). If it's not their problem it may just be a defective phone (which they should replace).
 
this is a similar problem i too am having since i had to reset my phone.
"unable to connect to server. Please check you connection"
I can connect to internet and voice talk connects to server only with wifi.
Can connect to internet over 3g, but not to voice talk google server.
Nobody answers this problem with a solution and it occurs since 2011. ATT won't address it as they say it is Android issues...software.
 
Since I have had my phone I've been getting a message that says Sync is experiencing problem and will be available shorty. The message will go away after a few hours but I realize that the syncing still isn't working as far as the apps are concerned. I haven't tried google gmail.
 
Check what part of the sync it is hanging up on. Under accounts select your Google account and you'll see all the apps syncing to your Google account. Send a sync request and you'll see all apps having the sync icon next to their titles. Whichever app flips the error try clearing its data or try reinstalling it.

Also check to see if your backup settings is set to your Google account.
 
I've been getting that a lot lately. The one google game that I have synced (Crazy Taxi) won't even sync anymore. Ive been having this problem since I've had my nexus 5. This may be a software issue pertaining to the nexus 5
 
I was able to sync my data about a minute ago but the funny thing is for some reason I cannot turn auto sync on. I may not be looking in the right place or for the right button. This is ridiculous lol

Do you actually use Google ear widget? If not you can uncheck that or uninstall it (if rooted).

Auto sync is in settings>data usage top right 3dot menu

Thank you. After I told it to sync it synced my gmail so hopefully it will sync my game data! !!!! I'm happy now !
