Unable to update Cyanogen mod again

[Android Question]

When I try to install the update, it says that the ROM can't be installed on incompatible version/data and stops the installation.

I installed several nightlies before and then installed a Snapshot update. After that I've been getting this error. I tried new Nightlies and another Snapshot several times. none of them worked.

I know if I do a factory rest ,it would work. I would like to do it without a reset because I have a lot apps and I don't want to back up and restore all of them

Try this, not sure if it would work but worth a try:

1. Download the latest build for your phone from the Cyanogen website (.zip)
2. Upload onto your mobile over USB
3. Boot into the recovery menu
4. Wipe both Cache and Dalvik
5. Flash the .zip file

* Don't forget about flashing gapps as well, sometimes you won't need to; but you usually will have issues if you don't.

Here is the only other solution I can think of,

Follow this tutorial to backup your data: How to backup your app data, texts and call logs on Android without root

Then perform a complete fresh re-install of Cyanogen using the recovery mode, be sure to clear the cache and dalvik again before installing the rom.

You should probably do a fresh install anyways with a factory reset just to make sure everything works properly.
