Hi all, i just got my self LG G5 and i set it all up went through all steps but when i try to use button at the back to unlock it says unable to use fingerprints tap knock code ??
I tried reseting and same thing, tried deleting all finger prints and putting new ones.
Any idea guys ?

Thanks for help !

So after you enter the knock code, are you able to get into the device? I mean, the fingerprint doesn't register at all?

What about setting up a pattern lock first, (instead of the knock code), then setting up the fingerprint option?

I can unlock it after i use the knock code but i want it to unlock quick with finger print scanner
Ah, ok cool.
So when you are setting up the fingerprint setting, it registers your fingerprint just fine, but actually trying to unlock it via the fingerprint fails, correct?
I'm just curious if setting up a different backup unlock, such as a pattern unlock, would make a difference. :)

Yes thats correct it registers my finger prints and in settings on finger prints i can see 3 fingers and when i place finger on scanner it showes which finger but when i wanna unlock it it says unable.
Also im not quite sure how to set pattern lock or any other as i just have under privacy settings ''fingerprints and security '' and i cant really find any pattern or password option

Also in privacy settings it says encyption : encrypted phone [ and i cannot click this or change ]

It fixed the issue, i managed to find and change lock screen into pattern and it seems to work the finger print scanner unlock thanks !

Fixed it yesterday but today seems the problem to come back but i realised that if i enter/touch wrong finger or it doesnt detect it right about 5 times then the only way i can unlock is via pattern lock. Sometimes i scan all my finger around and when i place finger it doesnt detect always need to like make my finger straight. I dont know i will try to rescan fingers couple of times till i get it to read first time. Maybe its something with this scanner or something

I had that problem when I started. Try deleting all your prints and re-scanning, make sure you lift your finger off and reposition your finger at a different angle everytime it prompts you. If you keep your finger in the same position the scanner will only remember that spot.
