Unanswerable TasKer Problems

swin81

Lurker
I am Having Problems getting tasker to work with unified remote. I have followed the steps I found on the net but non of them seem to work.( the tasker which launches spotify by location, not what I did but I followed the steps to the letter ) Is there something Im missing?

Also, slightly harder

Does anymore know how to make an indoor positioning system using WiFi. Then link that to tasker so as you move from room to room, you can target different tasks. (Maybe this should be a thread of its own) I just like the concept that your phone could be a passive tool.
I know nfc could be used but that would mean taking the phone out of your pocket. Essentialy a more accurate form of gps could be used but my house is not that big. Also, Im not sure if tasker use altitude info from the GPS.? Can any one confirm that.

Thanks

The best I can think of is use Wifi signal strength which is available by splitting up the contents of %wifii

But wifi signal stringth is an extremely indirect indication of location. I doubt it would be reliable since other things may affect your signal strength besides which room you're in.

I'm sure you can get altitude info. If nothing else using SL4A and Python. There may be easier ways..
