Help Unbelievable battery drain.

My DNA used to drain only 4-5% or less overnight. Now it has drained 40% overnight without much running in the background as far as I know. This is unacceptable, and I have no idea what is causing it. The phone says "Phone Idle" is causing 91% of the drain, which is even more ridiculous.

Please help!

Download either betterbatterystats(recommended) or gsam battery monitor.

Both will do a much better job than the stock battery stats.

BBS can not only identify the problem, but also tell you how to fix it.

Turning off mobile data and GPS when i don't need them seems to have helped my idle drain.

Did you install any new apps recently? If so, remove them and see if it gets better.

Did you happen to turn on fast shut down and boot? That seems to keep draining battery after shutdown. I went from losing 30+% a night to losing nothing when I shut that useless feature off. It defaults to on when the phone's new, so if you did a factory reset, I bet it's on again.

When is the last time you restarted your phone? Every now and then I'll get a huge drain on my phone. When I restart it, it goes away.
