Potentially my last resort is using this forum as a way of figureing out why this is happening. I've looked everywhere online and haven't found a similar case, called tech support which was no good, and even called the store of which my phone was purchased and only got their voicemail and no return call.
My phone plan is the $55 shrinking plan, where I pay through minute cards found at my local convenience store. With my phone I had gotten an additional $5 insurance placement, making my overall balance for the first six months $60, no higher.
For the month of January when my plan was coming to its monthly close, I received a reminder via text message directly stating "Your monthly balance of $60 is due 1/25/2014..." And so on with letting me know that I should pay it or I'll temporarily loose service, also refreshing my shrinking plan, where it would take six months to bring my balance to $55. So I paid my plan as usual and experienced no problems.
But that was last month.
This time around I received a message a week in advance stating directly "Your monthly balance is due on 2/25/2014..." With the usual message of letting me know it'll run out if I don't pay blah blah blah. But it never told me the exact amount I needed to pay. I just assumed it would be $60, like last month right? I put exactly $60 into my phone on the 25th of February, breathing a sigh of relief that the payment said I had $60 in my account.
The next day I had no service and I spent the day trying to figure it out. No texting, no calling, no internet whatsoever. I found out that 611 was a service I could use without access to internet or 4G, so through that I discovered that my insurance had been raised from $5 to $7 without my knowing, making my total monthly balance $62 instead of $60. So to avoid getting into an angry attack to my phone company for not telling me about my increase in insurance, causing my shrinking plan to reset and all, I spent another $20 card from the store and put it in my phone, leaving me with $18 on my phone as the transaction went into the system and my 4G returned.
First thing I did was check all my apps to be certain they worked. Everything was fine until I reached my SMS texting app. Go SMS Pro is what I use (its connected directly to the default texting service with the perk of being visually personalized). None of my text messages were being sent. I then tried a phone call (using the default phone app) to call my mother. After five seconds and no ring the phone began blaring with the annoying "no service" tone and a message saying "The network is busy. Please try again later."
I used my mom's phone to call customer service and the man told me after a half hour of not knowing what's wrong with my phone that it will probably come back after I restart my phone. I've restarted my phone several times, most even including shutting down and manually turning back on. The same thing still happens, no change. He then told me he didn't know what to do and that it might come back in a few days, just wait it out. Then asked if he was helpful in anyway, which I returned "well, we'll find out in a couple days I guess."
That was last Thursday.
Everyday my mother and I have called the store where we bought the phone and everytime just receive their voicemail, and this place has an "appointment through call only" system.
I know this is a long explanation but I just want it to be clear. I have no access to texting or calling any time or any place. When my mom calls my phone it goes straight to voicemail. My payment transaction is through. I can access apps like facebook, Google, etc. I can go on the internet through my phone. I am not using a WiFi network at all, only the service provided 4G LTE network in my phone's system.
If anyone, somebody, knows why and/or how to fix my phone without need for a professional to play doctor with my phone, help would be highly appreciated in telling me how to do it.
There's nothing wrong with the phone, the service is shut off at the carrier's office. Without knowing who the carrier is, and what their contract actually says (and, if not in the US, what the local laws say), there's no answer we can give you.
Boost is 55 monthly also....shrinking too
Try opining the dialer and typing ##72786#
The phone should reboot about go through hands free activation (which will update all your info, and hopefully restore service to your device)
Or *228 (if available on Boost?)
Wat. No way. The same deal with Cricket. $55 + automatic credit bill = $50. Dang it. They're collaborating
