Underclock CPU?

Is there a way to underclock the inc? I'm thinking in doing this when I will be away from a computer for long periods of time.

Once it's rooted I believe it will be possible.

It's not possible on the stock ROM, you'll have to wait until the phone has been fully rooted so we have full access to the phone to tweak.

The phone will underclock itself when it doesn't need the computing power, It rarely will use the full 1ghz most the time I'm guessing it's running around 700mhz. I believe it will underclock itself at idle to something like 260mhz (someone correct me on this number) so really underclocking really isn't necessary as it pretty much does this on its own
