Understanding Battery Drain

Hi All

First time poster. I am trying to understand what is destroying my battery life on my Note 5. I see app usage is pretty high but unfortunately Android System and Android Kernel dont reveal much. Any advice would be great

I have rebooted my device since and the app usage is still the same. This does not seem normal to me as I have compared my results with others - same device - different carrier - and usage remains below 30% for them.

WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS WordStarrrr !
Honestly,I don't see the problem,it appears you're getting decent battery life.
Don't get hung up on percentages, they're meaningless without any real context.
If you're getting through the day & still have battery left, there likely isn't a problem.
And,from the data in your screenshots, you're more than making it through a day w/o plugging in.

Thank you Kolio. Basically i was looking for something like that - reassurance that the phone was operating just fine. A buddy of mine who has the edge has app usage hovering around 30% so he found my high of 70% a bit shocking. Your absolutly right I do have more then enough to make it through the day. Just got home and Im at 40% (Had Google Maps, Bluetooth running). If you dont see a problem then Im good with it.
Side Note: What would be in Androidy System or Kernal that would dominate my stats? I have a N7 2013 WiFi and that doesnt occur there so you think its something with the Samsung build in particular?

Hello gang.
I have searched this forum in particular for an answer regarding battery drain and the two major processes that hog up all the power namely Android System and Android Kernel. I have attached screenshots, just ignore the speedtest app being there as I was conducting tests on my new T-Mobile service. For the past 2 weeks my app usage has been in the high 70% with those two main android services being the bulk of the time. Anyone know what they are, how to limit the impact on my standby time?

For now in an attempt to tshoot this I have done the following
1. Wipe the cache partition
2. Reboot
3. Turned off VoLTE
4. Turned off wifi scanning while phone is off.
5. Using Google Launcher and have disabled Google Now
6. Turned off the location service when not using GPS. <--This has helped somewhat
