Help Unfortunately, System UI Has stopped on Hudl!

I've had this problem for over a year now, it came about when my Hudl was rooted, and I downloaded some custom things (to make it look more like android lollipop) , and then when I uninstalled them, it started saying "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" and even when I click okay, it comes back after about a second.
It seems that the error doesn't come up when an app is running, and when the top bar thing (with the time, battery %) isn't there.
I've tried everything, I've factory reset it, wiped the davlik cache and system cache, and pretty much deleted everything there was to delete in the system recovery menu
yet no success, and yes, I know this is on the Tesco Hudl,a 2 year old device running android Jelly bean, but if anyone could help it would be much appreciated

Hello docs, shame nobodys helped you yet. anyway google helios rom for hudl look on mocado.com you need a windows pc..turn off the device. Push and hold the tiny button on the back and volumedown the screen will stayblank plug into pc. It will install drivers. Open helios folder and open the flash tool. Should say rkrom mode found at the bottom make sure all boxes excet loader are selected and flash.good luck.
