uninstall app updates?

Question, not sure if it belongs here in the app section or the more general Android section....

Is there a way to uninstall only the updates to an app you have installed earlier and updated later? I have a few apps that have updated (some apps and some games) and do not want the update. I want the app in the form that I originally downloaded in.

Yeah i use ES Explorer and back up each version before i update. If the update is buggy i can then revert to an older stabler version. There is some website where old versions of apk's are stored but i cannot remember the name. Maybe you can dod a search.
 
Ah ha, thank you folks for the quick reply. I will start doing just that.

It is basically a problem with a game I'm addicted to (no, not Angrybirds...) and it updated and now looks and sounds horrible, LOL.
 
Backing up sure saved me a lot of headaches. Example, prior to an update, an installed app had full functions.. the update stripped the features and had to purchase to get the features back..

Fortunately i was able to roll back to an earlier backed-up version..

Ive used MyBackupPro to do this.
 
if you use an app like Titanium Backup (or similar) you can run periodic updates for all your apps so you can always restore them when needed. I think you might need root access to use Titanium Backup but not sure about other apps.

After you restore from the apk file, will you then get updates through the Market?

Let's say you have version 1's apk file, but version 2 of the app you don't like, so you uninstall it and install version 1. Then later on version 3 comes out and you want to try it. Will version 3 show up in the Market as an update or so you have to uninstall version 1 and then install version 3?

Yes, you will see the "update" notification and whichever latest version is available in the market will be the apk queued for an install.
