Uninstall menu disappears when trying to use

I swipe up to get the apps. I long press on one to get the popup menu which has the uninstall option. The menu appears but when I move to select uninstall the menu disappears. Any ideas?

I'd upload a screen recording but I get a security error when the upload is almost complete

Why aren't you swiping down, goto settings, apps, and choosing the app from the list?

As @Dannydet says, but first clear all data from the app.

This helps to ensure that no files are left behind

I just find it's so much more convenient to swipe up and your there. I can uninstall the way you mentioned yes.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter which app I'm trying to uninstall. Seems to be a system wide problem.

No. This even happens in safe mode unfortunately.

Yes I can do it like that but it's so much more convenient to do it by swiping up when you are trying to clean up your phone
