Root Uninstalling bloatware

RXFL

Newbie
I have a Samsung Admire from Metro PCS and there's quite a few apps preloaded on it that I wanted to uninstall. I've tried a few uninstallers but nothing will even detect the preloaded apps. I've tried root uninstallers to be specific.
Not sure if anyone knows how to do this, but is there any way to uninstall any of the bloatware that's preloaded on my phone?
Specifically Metro Navigator, M Studio. And a few apps that aren't from Metro like the Google Play Books, Places, Gmail, Latitude.

I am brand new to this but there are helpfully people in the root section. Last night I rooted my phone and used Titanium Backup to Make a full back up of my phone (just incase) then used it to remove the bloatware your talking about.

Welcome to Android Forums RXFL:)
Have a look here for what bloat is safe to remove: http://androidforums.com/admire-all-things-root/412650-safely-removeable-bloatware.html

There are many different apps you can use to remove bloat Root Explorer & Titanium Backup are a few good ones. On the explorer type apps just make sure r/w is selected.

Moving this to the root side-Just an FYI:)

I read the post in that forum buuuut.. how would I get to the system folder? I'm sorry for being so noobish. Lol. Is it recommended I use Titanium Backup?

I'm still a n00b at a lot of this stuff-that's why I like it-something new everyday:pcguru:
Titanium would probably be your best bet-freeze it first if not sure-then you could always delete later:thumbup:

You need to install CWM which will install Super User. With SU installed, you can gain access to the System folder. I would recommend No Bloat Free to uninstall bloatware, but I guess anything will do as long as it deletes it and not just freeze it. Freezing will just hide it, and thats still a waste of memory, lol.

Titanium Backup is certainly the best in my opinon cause its lets you backup the apps before you delete them which is something i recommend. and with Titanium it it automatically takes you to the system folder, if you were you use Root Explorer you would just scroll down to the bottom where the S folders are. basically open Root Explorer>System>Apps

No Bloat Free does the same without the built in file browser. When you open it, it asks if you want to see user apps or system apps and gives you the option of backing up first. A lot of people like Titanium though so to each their own :)
