Universal Media Controls

The one thing that I missed when I switched to Android from Apple was the unified media controls. To address that I created an application that shows the last running media app (better then Apples current running app, drove me insane when it switched back to itunes) and media controls to control that application.

I like a clean desktop so I also created widgets that show cover art, title track etc for any music application that supports lock controls (pretty much all of them). The widgets let you remove all of the various Pandora, Spotify, Sonza, etc widgets from the desktop and get most of the same functionality.

Its working pretty well for me but I thought other people may have the same problem so I figured Id share.

- Feature suggestions
- Widget Ideas/suggestions.
- Media applications that worked or didnt work.

I have ICS working now. A new version has been posted to the play store.

Development apks can be found here but I post to the store pretty regularly.



Updates:
- Icons updated to be higher resolution
- ICS support added
- Widgets updated to handle Samsung GSII stock launcher better

Have been tested with the following media apps:
Cover Art, title, track, artist and media controls work.

Ive updated to trust alternative sources more then the media manger when determining if an application is paused/stopped/playing.

Looks to have fixed issues with Pocket Casts (Love that application) reporting playing even if it was paused.

Still looking for feature ideas.

Thoughts features:
1) Lock screen replacement if music application is playing. Ive seen this as a feature for several media application.

2) Smarter notification controls. Basically what is already there but only show for applications that dont support notification controls (Spotify, Pandora, etc).

3) Day dream
