Universal Search?

[shappie]

I was wondering if there is a way to do a universal search on the Moto X.

I just switched from an iPhone and it was a pretty useful feature that I used multiple times a day.

When I say universal, I mean everything from apps and contacts to text within an email or note.

Thanks in advance.

If I recall correctly from my OG Droid days, Android used to have universal search, but given some lawsuits and such with Apple, we lost the full functionality.

The closest you'll get to it these days, would be through a 3rd party app or Google Now's search function. In the latter case, you can hit the overflow button (3 dots), then select "Phone Search". From there, you can select which items you'd like to be searchable when doing your "universal search".
