Help Unknown downloads

Brox_47

Lurker
Hi guys,
I am new to android. I bought a handset which have android 4.4 KitKat. But recently I have been getting unknown files being downloaded without my permissions. These files were Clash of Kings, Mobogenie, Battery doctor and much more. I have unchecked unknown installation which stops installation of unknown apps.
My question is that "Is there any way to stop these unknown downloads?"
Thank you.

Welcome to the forums!

You've got malware.

Go to your app manager from the main settings and clear data on every Internet browser you have as a start.

Check out Addons Detector.

If you've ever downloaded paid apps for free - and especially if you've used Freedom to bypass app licenses - go for a factory data reset and never go near those sources again.

Try a malware scanner - you don't have to set up for a battery-killing auto scan, just use it manually. One is as good or bad as another, you can try Malwarebytes or Avast if you don't have a preference.

Uninstall anything by Cheetah Mobile and don't use CM Security.

Do you have markets beyond the Play Store and Amazon installed?

Those are the places to start.

Thanks guyz... I think I figured out which app is causing this. I just went in my notisfications and tapped and hold for few seconds on the unknown app and there i saw that the app which i downloaded(Traffic Racer) few weeks ago is making unknown downloads. So i just turned it off.
Thanks guyz for your support.

Report that to the play store. Apps are supposed to be banned from advertising outwith the app
