Pl help, have been getting the above error on my HTC Desire mobile while installing apps. Have factory resetted the phone but to no avail.

Hello and welcome aboard.
There are several things that could have caused this pop-up error message code 110). There are also a few troubleshooting steps that you can try to eradicate this vexatious problem.
Option 1. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Play store.
Option 2. Remove and reinsert the battery if it ever happens again.
Option 3. Clear cache, data, history, cookie from the web browser. (On any webpage tap menu - more - settings and scroll down to the above-mentioned.
