Help Unknown Error with Google Play Services

[mayank29gupta]

Since morning I am getting this weird pop up message every time I open GMail. It says "Unknown Error with Google Play Services". I am also not getting any notification on gmail.

I tried clearing cache of Play Services and rebooting the phone but none has worked. I didn't made any changes to the phone recently. Haven't updated or installed any app since I am planning to install a custom rom. Could someone please help me with this issue.

Yes I have the same error. Ive done the play services clear cache, uninstall, wipe data, etc but nothing seems to fix the Gmail or Inbox error. Everything else works if I dont tamper with updating google play services and just keeping it at the factory std.
The suddenly after clearing play store, play services and google transport services , and not updating play services ....but updating gmail.....it all works. Not entirely sure why. restarting helped as well.
