Help Unknown tab

I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. A few days ago I noticed a little tab at the bottom of the screen. I doesn't seem to effect the phone, I just don't know why it's there. It does nothing but irratate me... Lol

Looks like a tab you would swipe up or touch to expand. You have tried a quick reboot I take it, normally fixes oddity's?

It's a Samsung and he/she appears to be using the default Touchwiz launcher with a theme. Google launcher is not installed on Samsungs.

Anyway, I saw on another thread here that the tab in the picture should access Samsung Pay once swiped up.
 
Ah, never had a Samsung so never seen the infamous touchwiz.

Well that was what I was thinking, my wife had a very old Samsung with a sidebar (before smartphones) and had to swipe it with her pen to open a shortcut bar.
 
Looks like Samsung Pay app. You swipe up to see your cards. Its a great app and you should really try it if that is what it is. You don't even need NFC enabled!
