In my previous thread I've shown you guys how to have unlimited wifi tethering at full speed - forever. As long as you have the 60 dollar plan I mean..
In this thread I will show you guys how to share that connection to devices that cannot use the TTL trick.
When done correctly, network speeds should be almost the same as your phone and the only device that the TTL trick needs to be performed on is the computer needed for this guide.
YOU CANNOT USE USB TETHERING!
Pre-requisites :
A PC with Windows XP or newer that you have administrator access on and that has Wifi and ethernet onboard
Unlimited data plan from T-Mobile/MetroPCS/Sprint/Boost/Verizon
A spare router
A spare Ethernet cable
FoxFi on your phone(Premium version helps!)
1. Get on the laptop/PC you're going to use and perform the TTL trick. Check the Unlimited Tethering thread for information on how to do that.
2. Right click on "network connections" and click on "open network connection and sharing center" and open it
3. Click on "Adapter settings" on the far left near the top of the screen.
4. Right click your wifi adapter and click properties. Click on the sharing tab and enable it. Select "local area connection" if it asks for what connection to use.
5. After applying the wifi settings a message should pop up telling you that the ethernet adapters IP address has been changed, and it should say what it has changed it to. KEEP NOTE OF THE IP.
6. Power on the wifi router and login to it and find the internet setup options.
7. Change the internet IP address to the one your PC gave you, but add 1 to the end, so if it's 192.1680.1, it should be 192.168.0.2
8. Change the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0
9. Change the gateway to the IP address that your PC gave you, do not add anything to it.
10. Plug the router into your PC's ethernet port and connect the PC to your wifi hotspot on your phone(follow the guide in the unlimited tethering thread so you can get unlimited tethering from your phone)
11. Connect your devices to the spare router via wifi or ethernet that's plugged into your PC and it should work.
Feel free to ask me for help if you run into trouble. Hope you guys enjoy this!
