Unlock Desire without Unlock screen (Softbank)

Hello everyone, I am newbe here!
In Japan, I bought the Desire under the carrierer Softbank. (model x06HT)
Now I would like to unlock it in order to use it with other SIM cards in Europe.
But, when I insert another SIM card, I do not get a screen that asks me for the unlock code. Is there any possibility left to unlock it? I am willing to do everything, from soldering over root to saying things like "open sesame!"
Would appreciate your help!
 
There is a unlock program to... Well, unlock your phone. I believe it's in SUroot's sig, though you best do some research on it first to make sure it will work on your phone.
No idea if it only works on some and not others.
