My Pixel 2 has the fingerprint sensor setup to unlock but noticed that when I receive a notification and double tap it, it unlocks the phone without using a fingerprint.
Could be that I've missed a setting somewhere but not sure where?
I'm pretty sure if you have to use your finger print or passcode to unlock when double tapping a notification. I know it worked that way in my original pixel. I'm not 100% sure on my pixel 2. Now I'll have to test when I get a notification while my screen is locked.
Are you sure you haven't enabled any smart lock settings?
Settings>security>smart lock
Just thought maybe there's a chance you have one set up and your phone is staying unlocked I'm a certain situation when this is happening.
Only other thing I can think of the top of my head is that your phone is not set to lock immediately upon sleeping. That's another possible way your device could be remaining unlocked when you think it should be locked.
Settings>security>screen lock tap the gear icon to the right of screen lock. There's an option there called automatically lock that has time out settings. And an option for power button to instantly lock.
I've sorted it. Looks like my Pebble watch was setup within the Trusted Devices in Smart Lock. Removed this and still get notifications to my Pebble but also requires my fingerprint to access any content.
