Hi, is there any way how to unlock the sim of bolt, Im living in the philippines and i cant use my bolt using local sim card its says " sim card invalid Emergency call only" then contact your service provider.. can i unlock my bolt to be open line? if yes how? thanks
 
Hello and welcome to AF mcabrera :D

The Thunderbolt is not a world phone, I believe the only reason it has a SIM is because LTE requires a SIM card. There are no GSM radios in the Thunderbolt and I don't think you can get VZW to unlock the phone.
 
kinda similar issue.

Hi, I am from Australia. My friend left this Verizon Thunderbolt and when i put my 3 network sim card it's saying no service. Is there any possible way I can get signals in Australia.

Any suggestions to use that phone overseas?
 
Welcome to AF abbz :D

As I posted above the thunderbolt is not a world phone. The only reason it has a SIM slot is for VZW LTE. AFAIK it is locked to VZW and VZW alone so using it overseas wouldn't work. Also Three's network is GSM while VZW's 3G is CDMA so it has no radio's that would work either.

You could use it on wifi like a mini tablet :)
