Unlock sound. Can I transfer it

Hello guys. I love the screen unlock sound for L9, that "drop of tear in water" sort of sound. Is it possible to transfer it to my Optimus F3. It almost seems like F3 is smaller version of L9. It runs same JB version as well. Please help me with that.

The short answer is: Yes.

More than likely, the sound file you're looking for is located in (on your L9):

Code: 
/system/media/audio/ui/unlock.ogg

You may have to fish around in that general area, but either way, you'll have to pull that file off your L9 (e.g. using ADB).

It's been awhile since I was on the stock ROM. Can you customize the lock screen sounds? If so, you can just take the file you pulled, put it on your SD card, and choose that sound for the unlock sound.

If not, you'll need to have root access on your F3, and then send that file to your F3 (at the same location above).

If you can't customize the sounds in the menu, then this basically becomes more of an "All Things Root" question. At that point, you'll need root access to change the system files on your F3.
 
Yes both devices will need to be rooted and when you copy it to the deviceof choice you will need to set the permission . But i will say and agree with you that some devices have boring sounds and need to be changed . And if you delete other sounds ringtones or alarms this will give you some extra space to play with . Cause i dont use all my media sounds but now use that space for other things .:eek::rolleyes:
 
thanks it was really helpful. My L9 is not rooted, but F3 is. If anyone could send me that sound, i'd be greatful, just add hotmail to my user name. Can I use root explorer to import that. ogg into proper folder?

And no, you can not change the sound for unlocking on F3, it's either on or off.
