Help Unlocked Bootloader flash original firmware?

Hi,
I have a brand new Atrix 4g 4.5.141(firmware).
I unlocked the bootloader and found out that i have the wifi error issue.
I want to return the phone to the seller but remove the unlocked text when the phone loads.
I understand that I can do so by flashing the original firmware with RSDLITE.
I would like to know if i need to root my device to do so or not? Im not exactly sure and don't want to do any mistakes...

I believe you can just flash it. Use the latest sbf, and there is no chance of a brick. You want to anyway, because Motorola will ask if you have tried the latest firmware.
