Unlocked phones thread

Now that I'm picking up an S5 for T-Mobile, me and my wife are considering unlocking my S3 so she can use it on Metro which she has. Would this work alright then? Considering Metro is using T-Mobile's network

Which carrier is your s3 on?

Nexus 4, 5, 6
Note 2, 3, 4
Galaxy S4, S5
Huawei Ascend Mate 2
Huawei Ascend Mate 7
Oppo Find 7
One Plus One
Moto X
Moto G

Those are the top choices in my book.

However I would strictly go ONLY with phones that have the 700mhz Band 12 LTE antenna.

Which is the Note 4, ZTE Zmax, and Sony Z3.

... We should make a thread or forum on which phone would work on metro... If thats a good idea
That would be waaaayy to many phones this thread can become that thread, have a mod or guide come and sticky it. But I personally feel it would be redundant due to us having a byod thread with the required bands, and a tmobile older sister thread.

We should just try to educate them on what works and what doesnt

Sounds like a good idea! And i have a quick question if my phone is missing 1700 frequncie how do you think the service will be? Will i still get service like 4g ??

And also i seen that metro has anew phone and its the lg optimus f60 and i wanted to know if its the same as the lg optimus f6 it has kitkat and the same screen except i think its wider

It's been in the MetroPCS guide/faq sticky since I created it last year. Under the 2nd one: bands and phone compatibility
