So I'm stumped in deciding whether to get an iphone 2g/3g or g1 for T-mobile. I am not going to get a data plan, and was wondering if the g1 is able to use 3g speeds to send and receive texts even without the data plan? Also if I can sign into aim using 3g without the data plan too.
I used to have a Samsung Behold, and it used 3g for MMS, IM, and even free internet off a proxy without a data plan, so I was looking into whether a T-mobile phone is better then an iphone.
I have never used Android, so can anyone tell me if the community is similar to Apple's? I currently love my jail broken iphone with the free apps and such.
