Help Unread Text Message Notiification?

Does anyone know if there is a way to get an alert for unread messages?

My partner is giving me grief about her phone because her old one would vibrate periodically to remind her she had an unread message but I can't seem to find an option for this on the SGS.

If you use Launcher Pro you can set up the icons to give you number when you get a missed call, sms, gmail etc.

Also Handcent SMS can be set up to give you periodical notifications and it's free. I've been using it for ages now and it's great.

Check the market for an app called Missed Reminder. Does exactly what you want.
