unresponsive camera & photo viewing

I can't view pictures in my tablet's photo viewer. My camera says there's no sd card, although it is inserted. Photo program shows folders but no thumbnails. I did take out the card without unmounting it (I'm new to tablet- trio stealth machspeed 9.7 w/4.0 ice cream sandwich) and had no problems before this whatso ever. Any suggestions/ideas to what the problem is? Could I have damaged the card, therefore unresponsive camera and my pictures not showing... greatly appreciate any answers. Pics show up in my file manager tho. Thanks :)
 
Hi elldee. Welcome to these forums. Thanks for joining the community. You might want to remove the SD card again and then make certain you have it correctly seated when you reinsert it. If everything fails... you can move your photos from your SD card to your PC and then format the SD card from the SD options of your tablet. Then move your photos back. I feel certain that there is nothing wrong with your card.. it's just not quite seated or something similar. If none of the suggestions help.. return and we will check out your tablet's support area where the members know so much more about your tablet than myself. I'm certain they can set things right.

It's far more likely that the card simply isn't being mounted properly because you didn't unmount it cleanly. If you have a card reader, try viewing the contents in a PC. If you can see the files then right click on the drive icon in windows and choose eject to unmount it. Then put it back in your device and reboot. See if that clears it up.
 
Thanks olbriar, reformat was my next step. Not sure how to do it in tablet tho.

Thanks lunatic59, I always eject on puter & cell, but forgot on tablet... but put the card in puter, then did eject. Just has me baffled :)
