hi,
i bought my device desire hd from china on **********.
the dhd is already s-off, branded orange uk,
this are my date of boot:

ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT - 0.85.0024
MICROP-0438
RADIO - 26.09.04.11_M2
eMMC-BOOT
Apr 12 2011, 00:55:45

versione software 2.3.3
numero software 2.50.405.2
htc sense 2.1

After various test with various tool and via fastboot i don't have root permissions.

so, i want to return s-on with file ruu.

do you know where i can found the list of this original ruu brand?

i need for android 2.3.3 version 2.50.61.3 or 2.3.5 version 3.13.61.5
thank:confused:

why on earth would you want to go back to s on? root permissions are easily gained by adding a recovery, then fhashing superuser.

in the event that you do not want to be rooted, you just need to flash an ruu. s off will not affect anyting, and it leaves more options for re-rooting later, and for recovering soft bricked devices

i know but i can't use fastboot or AAHK for flash recovery o ruu.
for me there is a problem with my s-off.
i don't know why don't start flash recovery.
i tryed so with fastboot, but nathing.

There is no prollem with your s off. S off is s off! If you are not running an eng hboot, the easiest way to install recovery is via a PD98IMG file in hboot. I will get you some links as soon as I am back at my pc :)

sorry for the delay, download your choice of recovery from one of these links:
ext 4: PD98IMG_ace_recovery_ext_4.zip

twrp: PD98IMG-twrp-ace.zip

clockwork: cwm-5.0.2.7-ace.zip

personally,i prefer ext 4.

these files are all .zip files that can be installed by hboot,if s off. make sure your sd card is formatted FAT32(important!) and place the file on it,renamed "PD98IMG". boot to hboot and it should find the file, check it,and update. reboot when finished.

you can then boot to recovery and flash your choice of superuser.

you can use the latest superSU from this thread on xda (the download link is where is says: CWM installable ZIP: CWM-SuperSU-v0.96.zip )

alternately,you can use this superuser

just put one of those files on your sd card, and in recovery wipe cache and dalvik, and flash that file, like you would a rom. home that helps :)

excuse me, but the file zip maybe don't work.
it say at hboot impossible update, file incorrect...not exactly...
why this?
when i delete the file from sd card, in h boot start another file PD98img.
i don't know, i think that is very complicated.
are there another test?

p.s. come out a message as the file isn't that right

did you rename the file? youll need to:

-make sure your sd card is formatted FAT32
-rename the file to "PD98IMG" (assuming youre using windows)
-place the file on the root of the sd card (not inside any folders)

the messages hboot is displaying are the normal checking that hboot does of the sd card for files that it recognizes. either your file is not named correctly,or your sd card is not FAT 32,if hboot does not see the file.

Not sure what that means. If your phone is s off,it shouldn't be concerned with the model ID. Have you tried any of the other recovery files?

Place your phone in fastboot, and enter:
fastboot getvar all

And paste those results. We will figure out what is going on :)

Ahhh I believe you'll need to be supercid for the phone to ignore the model id and cid checks. I will get you some directions later :)

my apologies for the fustrations, since you were s-off i just assumed you had become that way via the AAHK,wich yould have left you with a CID of 11111111(superCID) as part of the process.

there are a couple ways we can deal with this.
1)short term- if you just want to get a recovery flashed right now,you can unzip the "PD98IMG_ace_recovery_ext_4.zip" file. you can use a utility such as 7 zip if you need to. inside, youll see an image named "recovery" and an "android info" text document.

if you open the android info text document, youll see it contains the following info:
modelid: PD9812000
cidnum: CWS__001
mainver: 2.47.502.7
hbootpreupdate:12

simply edit the info to relect your modelid and cid,so it looks like this:

modelid: PD9810000
cidnum: ORANG001
mainver: 2.47.502.7
hbootpreupdate:12

now save it,and zip the image and text document back up. since your phone is s off,and not doing siginiture checks, that should let the file flash.

you can apply this to any PD98IMG file that you need to flash. if you extract "rom.zip" from any .exe utility, you can get it to flash by unzipping it,and then repalcing the android ifo text document with your modified one.

staying with your stock CID will just mean youll have to extract rom.zip, you wont be able to run an .exe(unless its compatible with your cid),and you will have to modify the text document.

same for any other unsigned files that you want to flash in hboot(recoveries, radios, hboot, splash screen, etc). you can get them all to flash by modifying the text document.

it may not be a prollem if you dont plan to flash files in hboot very often.

however,if youd like a more permant long term solution, the best thing would be:

2) superCID the phone. there isnt a command for this, like there is for newer devices so the basic process we would need to do id this:
-flash a radio and recovery that are exploitable
-boot to that recovery and run an exploit to superCID
-update the radio and recovery

:)

option #2 will be a lil more involved than just editing the text ifo,so ill wait to see if youre interested in doing that before i go ito alot of detail :)

I apologize for not having replied earlier.
I worked.
Thank you very much for your frustration, I was really helpful.
tomorrow I will try with the first method and see what happens.
Let's see what happens and inform you
Thank you

excuse me but main version don't change?
i'm 2.50.405.2 and here is mainver: 2.47.502.7.
it isn't a problem?

changing the main version isnt neccessary. an s off phone doesnt care about the version,so it will flash any, wether it is older or newer.

the important aspects for your purpose are to modify the CID and modelid :)

THIS IS THE RESULT OF MY TEST:
I COME IN RECOVERY APPLY UPDATE FROM SD CARD
I FOUND THE FILE PD98IMG E THIS IS THE RESULT:

Install/ sdcard
Finding update package...
Opening update package
verifying update package
E: signature verification failed
installation aborted...
and now?
What I wrong?

It sounds like you were trying to install with the stock recovery. Which is not correct... You need to install PD98IMG in hboot

i tried to do this...but i don't know.
when the hboot start it control the file and than
to appaer parsing file PD98IMG e return to menu...
what do i do? please
i tried with adb to change supercid but don't work...
