Root unrooted, updated to 2.3.4 and lost 3g

So I noticed the 2.3.4 update the other day and since I wasn't using any of the features of my rooted phone (except freezing apps), I decided to unroot my phone, flashing back to 2.3.3. I followed the procedure precisely and the phone SEEMED to unroot successfully, according to the program. The x2 had no trouble rebooting and seemed to be fine. I then updated my phone to 2.3.4 and everything still seemed to be fine, until I went to text someone and noticed that I couldn't because my 3g had disappeared, and my wifi icon would appear but would not function also.

I tried a system restore and still nothing, I tried the airplane mode toggle fix but nothing happened. My date was enabled so it wasn't that either. Do you suggest I try flashing back to 2.3.3 again and seeing if the update was the issue? What are your suggestions?

If you do what coolpoete said, it should help. But if u SBF'ed back to 2.3.3 it wiped your phone number, if you didnt do the *228 to begin with.

...and if that's the case then you can call Verizon up and tell them you did a hard reset on the phone and you can't get it programmed, they should be able to help you no problems. Just skip the part about rooting the phone.

Did you try a battery pull? I WAS rooted, and accidentally hit the update button when it popped up (woke me up with the notification and I was groggy). Later that day I was on a phone call. I was done with the call and hit "end". The call didn't end and my phone froze. I was able to restart the phone with the hard power button but when it came back, no 3G. I powered it down again, did a battery pull (left it out for about a minute), restarted the phone and initially it showed no 3G, but it came up about 30 seconds later and the issue has not happened since.
