I am new to this rooting thing and am a bit scarred of doing it. Is there a way/easy way to unroot the shine plus after rooting it?

You shouldn't be scared about rooting, it's really safe and quite fun once you start using the apps that were developed for it :D

If you're on the old 2.1 ROM (v10d), simply using z4root's unroot feature will work. If you're on 2.3.3 and you use the procedure I posted, it also has an unroot feature.

basically unroot is simply deleting two files: /system/xbin/su and /system/app/Superuser.apk, there's nothing to it really... ;) Don't be afraid! Take the plunge!

superuser.apk is the front end on the phone, su is the actual 'elevation' to root program which if I am not mistaken is a hardlink to a patched busybox(with su compiled in) so technically you cannot 'unroot' without replacing the busybox program by the stock one.

but as mentioned above, rooting makes no harm to the system in the tinest way. if you are afraid of returning the phone, the sales in the shop is not sophisticated enough to know the difference.
