When tryin to download any gingerbreak file it keep sayin that I have had it on my phone before but had to reset it. Thank god my phone didn't lock up or anything. But I have tried downloading several times not just gingerbreak eiither I also tried z4. Not sure why but it driving me crazy! ! Just want to root my phone.

Once you are rooted, you should read the sticky^ NEVER DO A FACTORY RESET TO A ROOTED PHONE! ... you could end up with an expensive paperweight.

Gingerbreak will work with zv4 and zv5 basebands, make sure you have in settings >applications the unknown sources box checked ,scroll down to development >make sure android debugging is checked.
It could take up to 4-8 tries for it to work, if after 12 minutes your phone doesn't reboot pull the battery and try again, it should work.
