Unsupported apps SE X10 mini (android 2.1)

Hello, I have a Sony Ericsson XPERIA x10 mini with the stock android 2.1. When I try to install an app from Google Play (new market), it says that it's unsupported. Because I used to be on a custom 2.2 rom (yes, I'm rooted) all apps worked, but I had to go back b-cause it was really slow. I would like to know if there's any way to make these apps work, more specifically I want a way to fake the android 2.2 in my device...... If there's any other way to do that, feel free to say it.........
