unsync gmail only?

Hi, guys.

As i said in the introduction thread, i'm all new to this android stuff. I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to unsync my gmail e-mails from being pushed to the phone. I logged int market with my gmail account to download apps but don't really want the e-mails beiing pushed. Any ideas?

Oh, and regarding the fm radio, is there a way to quickly switch to the next preset station, so missing out the unwanted ones thats found when it autp scans on the first use?

Settings>Accounts & sync settings> under manage accounts, tap on your gmail address>uncheck sync gmail

That doesn't seem to work. If i have my wifi or connection off it gives me no options next to sync gmail, but underneath says sync now and remove account. But when i try while connected it only shows to refresh.

Any ideas :/

What device are you using?

It should have a check box on the right side. Uncheck it by clicking on it.

I'm using a htc wildfire and the only options i have are: to refresh to the right of gmail and at the bottom sync all and remove account.
