I might be wrong but unless Google releases another phone (NexusOne) in the near future it looks fairly unlikely that there is going to be a phone with the stock android coming out this year? This is my run down:
HTC all in with Sense.
Motorola all in with Blur (Moto-Shadow).
Samsung and well, I wouldn't touch their touchwiz-laced phones with a 10ft pole. You bada be kidding me!
Sony has Rachael I believe.
LG has the Ally but even that has some of their own home brew stuff on it - and I could see them doing their own thing with Android as well.
Acer may be producing their own blend of Android from the looks over the Acer Liquid Stream.
Dell has a couple of phones in the pipeline but I believe they'll have their own blend of Android.
Lenovo has LePhone - but its not stock I believe.
Google has the NexusOne but will they be releasing another Superphone until next year?
I know that people can turn off these 'skins' in some cases and even root their phones to load whatever custom rom they want... but I was hoping that with all the 'variety' there would still be room for phones to come with stock android. I currently own the Moto Droid, and I like the fact that it doesn't have Blur on it. I was sad to hear the NexusOne wouldn't be available to Verizon, as it was the only other stock Android 'super-phone' available. The obvious advantage would be quicker updates when the next version of Android is released (in 3 months). What is your take? Am I missing a manufacturer?
