Help Upcoming phone upgrade, worth getting?

Bufferz

Newbie
Contract with tmobile is coming to a head in August, so looking round for a new phone, it is down to this or a sgs3. Currently got a desire, is this phone a hell of an improvement over the dessy? And more importantly, would you guys recommend it?

I'd recommend 100%, but obviously can't compare to the SGS3. On paper it's better, but I've no real complaints with the One X. A few folk have had issues, but HTC have released 3 OTA updates so far so it looks as if they're keeping on top of peoples issues and fixing ASAP.

+1 for recommending 100%, also had no problems with mine.
If you like the sense overlay then the One X will be the phone for you.

If you prefer touchwiz get the sgs3 if you prefer sense get the one x. You could wait until the sgs3 is in stores and have a hands on play with them both.

Even if you do not like Sense, the phone is more than worth it IMO. There are a couple of free Launchers in the app store that do away with the sense thing.
I use Nova Launcher and love it.

AND.........i also have had zero issues with it. The top brass will not make separate forums for the AT&T version and the world version. No idea why. Very confusing when you read the threads which phone peeps are talking about. I may be wrong but i do believe most issues are with the world version?

T-mobile doesn't have the one x. They have the one S. The inferior screen. But if you're looking to switch then one x is a worthy.

Can't recommend the S3 as i haven't gotten my hands on it yet :P. but i can vouch for the One X. it would be an excellent upgrade for you seeing as you already have experience with HTC.

you do know your pretty much gonna get a biased view on this posting on a 1X thread right? :P lol

But to the question, love the one x, the 1.28 update has made it usable. camera the best HTC has brought out EVER. Still a few issues such as optimisation with the Tegra 3 chip i.e. the glitchy Live wall papers but overall, LOVE the phone.

Totally worth it. Huge improvement over the Desire. I was at a party Sat night, and I must have had 10 people say "What is that phone? It looks cooler than an iPhone. I've never seen it before." It is so light, screen is amazing, camera is great. Slo Mo video is great. Sense 4 is great. Can't say enough good things about it.

yer i cant recommend it enough, the jump from my desire HD to the one x is really noticeable.

Have yet to find anything to sink the phone.

A slightly larger battery would have been nice but tbh the battery life is still good.

For example I user it as a hotspot for 4 hours the other day to steam videos on my PC and It used 55% of the battery.

My desire HD would have dies after 2.5 hours.

My comments may be biased as I am a Desire user, then Sensation XE and now One X. HTC Sense is one of the reason for sticking with HTC.
Have the One X for nearly a month, no regrets, nothing to complaint, a few small imperfection here and there as other have mentioned but not really affecting the overall satisfaction of owning the phone.
The build and finished quality of the phone feels great, may be a little big for small hands but I have seen ladies with even bigger phones like Galaxy Note.
To be fair, you may just like to hold on a little longer until the Galaxy S3 is in the store so that you can make a physical comparation between this two excellent Android phones.

Roll on tomorrow... my One X is being delivered. 2 months of research (or hovering in phone shops and reading tons of websites!) led me to the One X from my rooted Desire.

Definitely love my One X. Sexy device and smooth all the way around. Noticed some issues with weird outrageous data consumption on my AT&T version but I'm glad I upgraded
