Android Question

my galaxy tab2 has just done an update to 4.2.2 and I hate it.
The lock screen now has a lock screen widget in it. when I swipe to unlock it gets in the way and just tilts over. How can I get rid of it?
And once the tablet is unlocked they have moved the apps launcher grid from one of the screens to the desktop, right underneath the home page button. This is really really really annoying. I have man sized fingers and hit the apps launcher pretty well every time.
How can I put it back on to one of the screens.
Three days trying to work this out. I cant get over the arrogance of the developers who think they know what's best for everyone.

Please help

Welcome to the site :hello:

You won't be able to edit your original post, but to try to fix part of your problem try installing a different launcher available in the Play Store. My favorite is Apex. That way, even if your device is updated again, you are still used to how to set up your homescreens and stuff.

good luck

Hi Teddyearp,
Thanks for that; a vast improvement. My fat little fingers can now avoid the app launcher. In my opinion the developers don't consider things like left handed people (my main issue with the new lock screen) or those who may for a variety of reasons have difficulty using modern technology.
Personally as an engineer I am familiar with this (mostly!!) but it bugs me having to spend hours re-learning how to use a device that was functioning perfectly well.
I have better things to do with my time !

Now for the lock screen.

Again Many thanks
