Root Update Android OS to 2.2?

Hey,

I am wondering how do I update my phone (San Francisco running Android 2.1 Update 1) to 2.2 or later?

Menu > Settings > About phone > System software updates > Check now

If you root it you can install custom 2.2 or 2.3 roms yourself, and be running them today. we may or may not see official releases of 2.2 or 2.3 for the OSF.

the blade doesn't have the same update features as your desire, it doesn't have the check now feature
