Help Update fail

hey guys!

I wanted to update my Galaxy S today and i stumbled across a problem which almost broke my device. Once the instalation initiated my phone switched to the update screen (the working android robot sign) and my computer proceeded to update. soon after my computer gave the error: DLL download failed. i could only click ok so i did. the update terminated but my phone was still in update mode, which is very tricky to abort. still i did, and i got it working fairly easy again. but it seems i have a problem updating my device. some info on it:

- Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000
- Android 2.2
- Rooted

Any idea how i can solve this problem? thanks in advance!

Bump, i still did not solve it

Thats happens a lot with kies (i think 99.9% would agree if i say it sucs)

I use odin and flash the phone to update it (it does have a couple of risks)

ok i found a nice step by step tutorial on how to do it, but i want you to double check it for safety.

i have to download the new firmware version from samsung-firmwares.com and then i have to use odin and my device in download mode to flash it.

make shure you place everyting in the correct order and it should al be going smooth
