Update failed message on Tab 2 10.1

I keep getting a notice that I have a firmware update to install but the update failes and suggests that I use Kies, which also fails, or go to a Samsung service center. This has been going on for two months. Tablet works fine otherwise. I have called Samsung twice and was told on the last call just after Christmas that it is a know problem and they are working on it. Has anyone had this problem and have you been able to fix it?

If it's the 4.3 update, not yet. Kies won't handle it, and the Samsung people in the field don't have it.

When you get the notification, long-press it. You should get an "App Info". Press that and clear the app's cache and data, and it'll stop bugging you to update.
