So, I got a new Samsung Galaxy S 3 before Christmas, we got along well, I started customising it like I wanted it to be, and everything was just sweet.
Then my phone prompted me to update what I believe was the firmware. Me thinking this would be a good thing, accepted, and the installation itself was flawless.
When I started to use it again, however, troubles started.
Firstly, all my dictionary words disappeared, and I am unable to enter new ones after the changes that have been made. The text input and auto correct has been changed - to the worse. I send dramatically fewer text messages these days, because it's all of a sudden a major pain in the ass to write on my phone. (I use the old 3x4 keyboard)
Secondly, whenever I open up my e-mail or the web browser, the light dims so much I can't see anything. This happens regardless of whether I have automatic brightness enabled or not.
Thirdly, my phone's camera now gives me eight (8) versions of the same photograph when I try to take a picture. And when I press the share-button, which I normally do when I want to send an MMS, there isn't any MMS alternative. It has been removed. Only e-mail, Dropbox, Facebook, etc. is left. Which is ridiculous.
There's also lots of other alterations made that I never asked for. Like annoying sounds, a stupid sidebar and other crap that I don't want.
Basically the update ****** up everything I liked about the new phone, and turned it into a useless mess. I hate phones (and computers) that alter themselves like that. If I want a ******* crap auto correct function, I'll install it myself.
I thought this update was for the system, to ensure that everything would run smoothly, to oil the machinery so to speak. Not a bloody new interior!
Please, please, anyone out there who has been kind enough to read through my rant - HOW DO I MAKE ALL THE NEW CRAP GO AWAY AND TURN MY PHONE INTO THE LOVING LITTLE MACHINE IT ONCE WAS??
