Help Update gone wrong

I'm hoping someone can help me. I've just done the new software update on my S3 today, and my phone now will not progress past showing the black screen with SAMSUNG in white capital letters. It's been like that for a few hours now!! Help!

Try removing the battery for a few minutes. If that doesn't work, please post your model #/carrier.

Just done it, but sadly no joy. May be a call to samsung tomorrow.

Can you get into recovery? You could always try a factory reset from there.

How do I put it into recovery? When I start up the phone, it shows the Samsung I19300 screen, then the Three network screen, then freezes on the samsung logo screen.

You have to power off the phone, then hold down the home, volume up, and power button and keep holding them while turning the phone on. Pay attention to the top left corner of the screen. As soon as you see some blue text that says recovery mode let go of the buttons and it will boot into recovery.

He holds a couple buttons in longer, I don't but it's something to try if you have trouble. It was tricky for me at first.

I'll keep trying. The problem is I can't get to a power off screen. I take the battery out, but the phone just restarts itself when I put it back in. Thank you though...much appreciated!

If auto power on then u must hold the home and up volume buton firts b4 installing the batery
